Product Description:

Resiflow® PL-330 is the second-generation flow control agent in Estron’s line of products designed for improved compatibility. Resiflow® PL-330 offers improvements over Resiflow PL-220 which has been commercially demonstrated to impart improved compatibility. Improved cross product compatibility can lead to lower manufacturing cost due to reductions in both rework and clean up during product change overs. In addition to the benefits of Resiflow PL-220, Resiflow PL-330 offers enhanced robustness regarding contamination from powders based on super durable polyester technology whether crosslinked with TGIC or hydroxyalkyl amide. Powder coatings containing Resiflow PL-330 also demonstrate significantly improved recoat adhesion. Resiflow PL-330 is not recommended for epoxy systems without confirming recoatability.

The product is based on a liquid acrylic polymer that has been converted into free-flowing powder by adsorption onto silica-type filler. Surface defects such as orange peel, craters, pinholes, and other imperfections can be reduced or eliminated by incorporating 0.7-1.5% of Resiflow PL-330 into powder coating formulations. For best results, the Resiflow PL-330 should be dry-blended with other coating raw materials, then homogenized in a heated extruder. As with any raw material, laboratory evaluation is required for each formulation to determine the optimum concentration of the flow additive, best processing method, suitability for the application and other specific requirements such as recoatability.

Recommendation for Use

  • Powder Coatings
  • Contamination Resistance
