Escat® A-140 is a liquid catalyst consisting of Dimethyl Stearyl Amine (DMSA; N,N-Dimethyl-1- Octadecylamine; CAS#124-28-7) absorbed onto a silica carrier. It lowers the cure temperature of polyester epoxy hybrid formulations while maintaining high flow and gel times. It can also serve as a de- block accelerator in urethane durable coating systems. The recommended usage level is from 0.1 to 0.5% of the total formulation. Each application should be tested to determine the optimum catalyst level to achieve the desired cure time and coating properties.
