Lumicryl 245

Product Description:

Lumicryl® 245 is a UV/EB-curable acrylic macromer suitable for formulating protective coatings and inks for in-mold decorating, transfer laminate and thermal transfer applications. A key attribute of Lumicryl 245 is its capability to undergo a physical drying step prior to UV curing. Properly formulated coatings will dry to a tack-free, dry-to-touch state after the solvent is flashed off. After UV curing, the coatings and inks will have excellent abrasion and chemical resistance.

Coatings utilizing Lumicryl® 245 may be applied using conventional application equipment such as roller, spray, flexo, gravure, screen et al. The dried, but uncured coating remains thermoplastic and can undergo intermediate processing such as molding, forming, transfer laminating, thermal transfer, sanding, and re-coat prior to UV curing. Photoinitiator is required to achieve optimal UV-cured film properties.

Recommendation for Use

  • UV Curables
  • Coatings
